Five Things you may not know about Phil

1. I am the same weight as an adult male Giant Panda.

If there’s one fact to remember about Phil, it’s this one! (I’m still not sure if he’s joking…)

2. I am very good at ice skating.

Don’t underestimate Phil. Watching him on the ice should be on everyone’s bucket list. I think we’ve found a new activity for this year’s Two Chimps Christmas party!

3. I can fit 2 wagon wheels in my mouth and still whistle.

This is one of those party tricks which makes you wonder, ‘How did you even work out you could do that?’

4. I played for Oakham Rugby Football Club for 23 years.

If you recognise Phil, you may know him from his Rugby days. He’s our little local celebrity here at Two Chimps!

5. Number 3 was a lie.

A Day in the Life of Phil

As a sales professional, Phil’s days rarely look the same. Sometimes, he’s off zooming in the chimpmoblie (or chimp wagon as he calls it) or at Two Chimps HQ chasing some new leads. Usually, it’s a mix of both, and it all kicks off with Phil arriving at the roastery bright and early.

Step 1. is (of course) making a coffee. He then heads to our demonstration room, where we run our coffee courses, which serves as his office for the next couple of hours. This is where Phil starts to work through his emails and follow up on calls he made the previous week.

Phil will then map out the delis, garden centres, and cafes he wants to visit that afternoon and give Lianne a list of samples he could like to grind and package in our dapper retail boxes.

Phil loads up the chimpmobile, packing all the essentials before hitting the road. This is where he works his magic, spreads the word about awesome coffee with no-nonsense, and brings new wholesale accounts to TCC!

Trade shows

Another important aspect in which Phils gets to shine is at our trade shows. This year, we have made it our goal to try to exhibit at more shows, and so far, we have been at the NEC Farm and Deli Show in Birmingham and the Fine & Speciality Food Fair at the Olympia in London.

This is actually how Phil joined the team, as he stepped in to lend a helping hand with head chimps Andy and Laura at the NEC show in April. We liked him so much that we let him stick around and become a full-fledged member of Two Chimps!

With every show we attend, they are becoming a well-oiled ship, and they are looking forward to our next venture at the East Midlands Food Festival at Melton Mowbray on October 5^th & 6^th. If you’re free, pop down, enjoy some yummy samples and meet the team!
