An Environmentally Sustainable Business Selling Ethically Sourced Coffee

Introducing Stamford Garden Centre; where most of their heat comes from woodburning stoves & most of their electricity from solar panels.

Once a sheep farm, located just north of Stamford, this successful garden centre is host to an award-winning butcher (Simpsons), Hambleton Bakery bread and a fantastic range of gifts and goodies, including wine and now Two Chimps Coffee. With free parking, a warm welcome and easy access from the A1, Stamford and surrounding villages, it’s well worth a visit.

It’s not just a garden centre, however. There’s a food hall and a bistro restaurant too. Serving vegetables from their organic allotment, they also showcase produce from other local farms. Herbs from their herb garden and meat that has been locally sourced are also combined to create delicious homemade breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. All freshly prepared and cooked by local chef Andrew West, previously of Jim’s Yard in Stamford and The Red Lion in Stathern.

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, they announced in March 2020 that they would be able to offer essentials and to help any vulnerable people at this time. They had to close the restaurant due to government guidelines, but it didn’t stop them! Continuing forward with their business, they looked for opportunities to keep going when others couldn’t or weren’t able to. They offered takeaways, essential items such as milk, bread, eggs, potatoes and flour, ready meals that you could takeaway, and the option to ring and place an order and pay over the phone reducing the amount of contact.

On top of this, the butchers stayed open, and the food hall has remained stocked with goods, they’ve implemented good social distancing throughout the shop. They’ll even load products into your car. You can even get fuel for your fire! It seems like they’ve thought of everything!

The Coffee

During this time, they have also introduced new ranges, and we are proud to say that Two Chimps Coffee is one of these! Since May, they’ve stocked four different varieties of ethically sourced, hand roasted, single origin speciality coffee.

They contacted us wanting to stock our coffee because they LOVED the branding and that we offered freshly roasted coffee delivered for free on orders over £25. All of our coffees are ethically sourced and roasted by hand multiple times each week to ensure the freshest coffee available. Because Stamford Garden Centre is so local to us, we deliver their coffee to them, a few days after roasting, to ensure maximum freshness.

Their Facebook page is a fantastic showcase for what they’ve been doing as they’re active almost every day. This included posting throughout lockdown to make it crystal clear what they’re offering for their customers. Social media is brilliant for this, plus it’s free! We’re also able to support other small independent businesses, especially through difficult times like these, by liking posts and sharing. We are here to help.
