Autumn Coffee Adventures: Exploring Local Coffee Shops

Embarking on an Autumn Coffee Adventure

The leaves are turning orange, knitted jumpers are emerging from the back of the wardrobe, and local coffee shops are stocking everyone’s favourite festive treats. This must mean only one thing- Autumn has arrived! Hurrah! Now, this, without a doubt, is the best season. We get it; you are a summer lover (you like wasps and seagulls stealing your ice cream?). But let us convince you why Autumn is the best time of the year and why you must explore your local coffee shops.

Autumn is all about building anticipation for the festivities- it is officially cosy season people! Fires start burning, hot chocolates are made, and Christmas lists are being drafted. However, we can’t let Christmas take all the glory (after all, it is only mid November!) Let’s sit back and enjoy the calm before the storm. There is just something magical about the trees turning every shade of golden and the way the leaves float down through the air, and let’s not even get started on all those incredible Autumn smells.

The Larder: Cup of Coffee and Cinnamon Rolls

If there’s one thing this season is built for, it’s popping down to your local coffee shops. Abundant with autumn goodies and festive drinks, this is the perfect activity for when it’s getting chilly outside. You can sit inside toasty and warm, gazing out at all the beautiful views of Autumn. With a cup of awesome coffee and a sweet treat, it doesn’t get better than this! We have created a short list of 3 local coffee shops serving incredible food and cakes with our awesome Two Chimps brew! These are perfect for that Saturday adventure or a catch-up with friends. Add these to your must-try list if you are local to Oakham, Stamford, or Melton.

1.  The Larder, Oakham

With the launch of their new mouth-watering Autumn menu- you’ll want to wear loose-fitting trousers. Explore the flavours of a pumpkin spiced soup or a toasted bun filled with Maple-Hoisin Sticky Pulled Pork, Melted Cheese, Slaw, Siracha Mayo and Rocket (wow!) Fancy something sweet? There is always a selection of incredible homemade bakes, such as caramel brownies and Malteser Millionaires, all pair perfectly with a cup of Two Chimps coffee! The Larder serves our Hamster on a Hoover blend (orange label). With this brew, you can expect swirls of tangy-tart blackberry compote combined with hazelnut, dark chocolate, and fresh orange zest. Delishhh.

2. The Blonde Beet, Stamford

This coffee shop has the best plant-based menu, updated monthly based on local produce and vegetables. This November’s brunch menu ranges from a Granola Bowl to a Burrito Brunch pie comprising smoked and gently spiced beans with scrambled tofu in a crunchy tortilla wrap parcel, yummy! At lunchtime, incredible pies, soups, salads, and main dishes are available, perfect for a light bite or trying out some vegan delights! Take it from us: the coffee is also top-tier. With our green-label coffee, Freshly Knitted Bicycle, you will experience milk chocolate & a silky texture with a warming sweetness of caramel. Find a little apple & cherry in the acidity, too. Yum! We aren’t biased, I promise… but seriously, it really is the best cup of joe around.

You can’t go wrong. Fancy something savoury? They have you covered with their salads, baked potatoes, sandwiches, and tasty pork pie plates. It’s everything you could ever want and more!
