Awesome Coffee for your Bed and Breakfast
Never heard of Poplars Farm before?
It’s a great place to get away from everything and spend some quality time with the family. Poplars farm is already awesome and it won’t stop there, the team have so many amazing ideas for the future too. Let’s dive in and find out a bit more about this countryside B&B, and the perks of having our coffee for your bed and breakfast.
Based in Great Dalby, Poplars Farm opened its doors in June 2019. The farm can be found just outside of Melton Mowbray and not too far from Oakham. It’s ideally located for total peace and quiet with the only noise coming from the farm’s sheep and, if you’re lucky, lambs too!
Where It All Began
The farm has been in the family since 1958, but before it was brought back to life, it hadn’t been lived in since 1961. Work began in 2018 to get the farm back to its former glory. The cowshed on the farm is currently being renovated and will be used for weddings and other events which we are super excited to see!
The barn has been converted to offer four modern and spacious rooms. Each room is also kitted out with an en suite bathroom, tv AND wifi which is available to use throughout the farm. When it comes to breakfast, the farm sources high quality and fresh food from local producers in the Melton and Rutland area.
Outside, you will find a courtyard which is a great place to enjoy a drink on a warm summer evening. There’s even a BBQ which you can use whenever you’d like.
For the kids, there is a den, full of toys, puzzles and DVD’s for your little one to enjoy. Meaning, even on a rainy day, they can still have fun!
Got a dog? They’re part of the family too! All well-behaved dogs are welcome at Poplars Farm!
Camping
The farm has a small campsite with three bell tents available. These can be booked during the warmer months between July and September. You’ll also find cooking facilities and kitchenware in the tents and outside is a seating area with a fire pit for those chilly nights.
Don’t worry about crouching behind a tree, they have converted a horsebox into a bathroom for campers to use too – how cool is that!
Coffee, Coffee, Coffee! Our Coffee at Their Bed And Breakfast
In your room at Poplars Farm you’ll also find a cool Two Chimps Coffee tin filled with freshly roasted coffee. This has been selected by the team and ground for you to enjoy in the cafetieres provided in the rooms. Currently chosen is a single-origin coffee from Brazil, ‘Round Hole Square Peg’. This coffee is sweet and smooth with a melted chocolate sensation and tropical fruit-like acidity. Yum!
Your Two Chimps Coffee experience doesn’t just end there though. Head on down for breakfast and find a freshly brewed pot of coffee ready and waiting for you to enjoy with your bacon and eggs.
Only drink decaf? Never fear – they have our chemical-free decaf from Ethiopia, Isle of View, for you to enjoy too. This coffee has been decaffeinated using a sparkling water process which is natural and delicate to keep your decaf coffee tasting great!
Here at Two Chimps Coffee, we always hand roast our coffees in small batches multiple times each week. This ensures that whenever you enjoy a cup of our coffee, it is always fresh.
