Ever Changing Filter Coffee at The Larder

There’s nothing better than a slice of cake and a good ol’ cup of coffee.

However, we’d all be lying if we said it was just the one slice! Before you know it, you’ve finished off your Mum’s homemade Victoria sponge, and you’re left feeling like Augustus Gloop. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could eat all the cakes you wanted and still feel as good as ever? Just a thought.

Anyway, introducing… The Larder! This coffee shop in Oakham offers some seriously yummy treats such as triple chocolate brownies and vegan ginger cake. The Larder use local products for all their food and drinks too. These local suppliers include Hambleton Bakery, Northfield Farm, Feast and the Furious and of course us; Two Chimps Coffee.

The Larder have catered for everyone when it comes to their food choices. They have food options such as sweet treats and smoked meats, but they also have vegan and gluten-friendly options. As well as Two Chimps Coffee, The Larder serves tea from the Tea Lab Company.

These guys have got it covered and you know you will be in the safest of hands as Alyson and Iain are chefs with years of experience, cheffing across the country.

What time is it? Coffee time!

When it comes to coffee, The Larder currently serves our silky smooth Guatemalan, ‘The Cat’s Pyjamas’ through their espresso machine along with our moreish Rwandan decaffeinated coffee ‘Knickers & Gnomes’.

They also serve an ever-changing filter coffee, so next time you’re walking by check out what’s brewing that week.

To make sure The Larder always have the freshest coffee available, we ring on a Monday for their coffee order. We then roast their coffee to order, and they will receive their coffee delivery on Wednesday.

As our coffees are ethically sourced from small farms and cooperatives around the world, they do change from time to time. On the plus side, imagine all the different flavours you’ll get to taste!

When our coffees do change, we look to source a coffee that is similar. We never find two coffees the same, but we always aim to get similar flavours. For instance, if our current coffee was quite chocolatey, the next might have hints of cocoa powder.

So go on, what are you waiting for? Check out this awesome coffee shop on Mill Street, Oakham.
