Meet Lorna; the newest member of the Two Chimps Coffee Family

Hi, I’m Lorna, and I’m the newest member of the Two Chimps family!

I’m a Rutland girl through and through, and the love of the countryside is in my blood, as my partner likes to say, “you can take the girl out of Rutland, but you can’t take Rutland out of the girl!”

Being an outdoorsy person, I love nothing more than to be able to go for a walk with my family and friends.  I’m definitely a dog lover too; I feel like that is an important thing to mention in an ‘about me’ post.

Coffee lover

So I’m a total coffee fiend and drink probably 6 cups a day, if not more! As you can imagine, this has now been helped as I am now working with coffee all day too! I also used to work in two well-known high-street coffee shops, which more than likely increased my love for a cup of Joe.

Since leaving school, I have had various jobs, including the two coffee shops, a leather accessories company, a local haulage company and a pharmacy.  This has given me many different experiences, and I have been lucky enough to create some lifelong friends too!

Holibob’s

Before lockdown 1.0 in March 2020, I returned from a fantastic short break to Iceland with two friends.  We did the whole Iceland experience in 3 days – the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss Waterfall, the Great Geysir, Kerid Crater and the Northern Lights (although they didn’t want to come out and say hi on any of those three days…).

Having that one last trip away before the pandemic took hold was amazing, and it is on my bucket list to go again, I’m determined I will see the elusive Northern Lights!

Music has been a massive part of my life, and I can’t think of a day where I haven’t listened to music.  The radio is always on in our kitchen, and usually, Spotify is going upstairs too.

I had a few gigs planned for 2020, which were postponed due to the pandemic, but fingers crossed for 2021!

My music taste is pretty eclectic, but I always come back to rock, pop/punk, metal, and hip hop.

I can’t pick an all-time favourite band, but my top two would have to be the Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World. I have been fortunate enough to see both of these bands. Even luckier still to see Foo Fighters on their Broken Leg tour in Nashville, Tennessee.

Joining the team

It was a complete coincidence that I met Andy and Laura again. I first met them nine years ago in a previous profession. They took photos of my dad and me shortly before he, unfortunately, passed away.

It did take us a few days to work out where we had all seen each other before. Wearing masks and only seeing half of someone’s face didn’t help :-). I just put it down to working in the coffee shops for so long.

I think that’s enough about me and I can’t wait to get stuck in!
