Meet The Team
Hi, we’re the team here at Two Chimps Coffee.
Although we are a small team, we all work hard to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether that’s getting your coffee out to you, updating you on our social media or giving you some coffee related advice over the phone.
So, without further ado, please meet the team!

What’s your name, and where do you come from?
Ellie, Melton Mowbray.
Lorna from Oakham.
Trevor, Oakham.
Andy, Oakham.
Laura, Ely.
Dave, Leicester.

What’s your role here at Two Chimps Coffee?
Ellie – Digital Content and web-based Marketing Creative
Lorna – Bespoke Order Creator
Trevor – When our coffee has been roasted, I package the coffee into our retail bags, I’m also the Two Chimps maintenance man 🙂
Andy – I’m responsible for the coffee side of things and making sure that our coffee is the best it can be. This involves sourcing and buying green coffee, collecting the green coffee, roasting and then delivering.
Laura – I help Vic look after our customers and also answer the phone, make phone calls and reply to emails. I help pack all of the coffee orders too. Lastly, I assist with our social media and marketing.
Dave – Roastery Assistant

What’s your favourite thing about Two Chimps Coffee?
Ellie – The friendly, fun team that are the heart and soul of Two Chimps.
Lorna – Obviously the coffee! But the fact that the coffee is sourced from independent farms is great! Oh, and once that batch has gone, a new one takes its place.
Trevor – Toasted sarnies.
Andy – That we do our bit for the world. We pay our farmers a little bit extra, which means they can improve aspects of their lives. And on the other side, we make people happy every day when they drink our coffee.
Laura – That we get to meet our customers and build friendships with them through our coffee courses. I also love sharing my knowledge to give others a better understanding of awesome coffee.
Dave – Its awesomeness!

What’s your favourite coffee, and why?
Ellie – I prefer a smooth, chocolatey coffee so I can enjoy it in a hot chocolate.
Lorna – Anything that has a sweet taste as I’m not sweet enough…
Trevor – N/A, I like tea.
Andy – My favourite coffee at the moment is ‘There’s a Chimp in my Kitchen’ I love the sweet, jam-like acidity and the slight chocolate hint which brings it all together.
Laura – It’s got to be ‘Oh Do Beehave’. I love coffees with a chocolatey smooth taste, so this coffee is a winner for me.
Dave – The pink coffee because it gets me going in the morning.

Your favourite brewing device?
Ellie – I’m yet decide, but I do think the AeroPress is great fun!
Lorna – Currently a Cafetiere but I’m hoping to switch things up and try a new method…maybe I’ll get that espresso machine I’ve always wanted.
Trevor – Kettle as it boils water.
Andy – Chemex.
Laura – An Aeropress.
Dave – Cafetiere
Tea or Coffee?
Ellie – Coffee, but I do love a good hot chocolate or mocha.
Lorna – Definitely coffee.
Trevor – Tea.
Andy – Usually it’s coffee but if I’ve had one too many, I’ve got to go with tea.
Laura – Coffee; decaf in the afternoons.
Dave – Coffee!

Rich Tea or Chocolate Hobnob?
Ellie – Rich Tea
Lorna – Chocolate Hobnob all the way.
Trevor – Chocolate Rich Tea.
Andy – CHOCOLATE HOBNOB!
Laura – The Chocolate Hobnob wins every time.
Dave – The Chocolate Hobnob.
Ibiza or Tenerife?
Ellie – I’ve never been to either, but I’m guessing (the quieter side of!) Ibiza.
Lorna – Never been to either…can I pick somewhere cold?
Trevor – Ibiza.
Andy – Ibiza – Woop Woop!
Laura – Ibiza.
Dave – Ibiza.

Walk or Cycle?
Ellie – Walk
Lorna – Walk with the dog.
Trevor – Cycle.
Andy – Cycle.
Laura – Walk.
Dave – Walk.

Netflix or Cinema?
Ellie – Netflix so I can press ‘pause’ whenever I need to.
Lorna – Netflix but I always get overwhelmed by the choice.
Trevor – Netflix.
Andy – Netflix.
Laura – Netlfix.
Dave – Netlfix.
Book or Kindle?
Ellie – Book every single time.
Lorna – Book.
Trevor – Book.
Andy – Book.
Laura – Book.
Dave – Book.

Radio One or Radio Two?
Ellie – Radio Two, especially Dermot on a Saturday morning.
Lorna – Radio 2 has been the main station in my house but I tend to listen to Spotify more than the radio these days.
Trevor – Radio Two.
Andy – It used to be Radio One, but as I have got older I have migrated over to Radio Two.
Laura – Radio Two.
Dave – Radio Two.

If you had £1k, what would you do with it?
Ellie – Spend half and save half.
Lorna – Give some of it to charity then buy more DC shoes and Converse than I know what to do with.
Trevor – Give it to the wife! Obviously, my answer has been hijacked. I would share it with my two lads – Not!
Andy – Take the family away for the weekend.
Laura – Have a party, hire a band and maybe have a few too many.
Dave – Buy a four season tent for wild camping.
Coffee Shop or Coffee at home?
Ellie – Coffee shop, especially if the window seats are free!
Lorna – Coffee shop so you can get a slab of cake too.
Trevor – Tea at home.
Andy – Coffee Shop.
Laura – Coffee Shop if they serve good coffee, coffee at home if they don’t.
Dave – Coffee Shop.

Favourite Saying?
Ellie – ‘It’s never crowded on the extra mile.’
Lorna – “Everything happens for a reason” or “What goes around comes around”.
Trevor – ‘I’ll be up the flue in a minute or two.’
Andy – ‘It’s not how much you make, it’s how you make it.’
Laura – ‘All good in the hood.’
Dave – ‘I’m on it!’
Something about your parents – anything at all.
Ellie – My dad sells tractors and my mum used to make Stilton cheese.
Lorna – Mum’s a fantastic quilter and dad had his private pilots license.
Trevor – They’re both older than me.
Andy – They listen to Northern Soul.
Laura – My mum has the same size feet as a child.
Dave – They’re total legends.

Ellie – What banjaxed means.
Lorna – How to make enchiladas.

What do you hate doing?
Ellie – Folding bedsheets
Lorna – Cleaning and gardening
Trevor – Washing cars (and vans).
Andy – Loading/unloading the dishwasher.
Laura – Gardening.
Dave – Wallpaper hanging.

What was the best thing before sliced bread?
Ellie – Hmmm…ice cream?
Lorna – The Wright Brothers first plane, the “Wright Flyer”
Trevor – Unsliced bread.
Andy – The locks on canals.
Laura – The cheese slice.
Dave – I agree with Trevor.

If you could invent one thing, what would it be?
Ellie – Bottled happiness
Lorna – A cure for cancer or a time machine
Trevor – A telephone hotline that didn’t keep you on hold for 45 minutes.
Andy – Coffee that was grown naturally decaffeinated.
Laura – Something to get Andy out of bed in the morning.
Dave – Teleporter.
