The Head Chimps

Allow us to introduce the dynamic duo who kick-started this journey, our very own Andy & Laura, the iconic two chimps of Two Chimps Coffee! Former wedding photographers, they were eager for a change that would allow them to reclaim their weekends and focus on expanding their family (cue micro chimps Felix & Autumn!).

Andy’s passion for coffee was ignited when he started using a Gene Café home roaster. After discovering the lack of speciality coffee roasters, he and Laura established Two Chimps Coffee in 2016. Initially, they managed most of the daily operations between themselves, but as the business flourished and more coffee enthusiasts joined, they now lead a team of six dedicated chimps!

Andy

These days, Andy takes care of the business side of things, including HR, spreadsheet creation, KPI development, and financial management. He also sets up the coffee machines for our wholesale customers, trains new baristas upon request, and conducts our popular weekend coffee courses at Two Chimps HQ!

Laura

Laura focuses on day-to-day aspects which make Two Chimps run smoothly, such as monitoring the website, uploading new products, replying to any questions via social media, and calling wholesale customers. She will also be a helping hand in packing our coffee on our extra busy days. Laura loves chatting with our coffee lovers, so if you call the roastery, you’ll hear Laura’s voice!

Jordyn

Now, where would our roastery be without a roaster? Meet Jordyn, the chimp responsible for ensuring each of our coffees is the bee’s knees. He will research, source, sample and roast our beans to perfection. We only roast in small batches to ensure peak freshness; therefore, to make sure you get the same cup of mouth-watering brew every time, Jordyn will create a roasting profile for each of our brews.

Imagine this as your great-grandma’s secret recipe that you can never, ever share. It’s the magic formula that makes each of our speciality coffees absolutely amazing. So, what’s this roasting profile all about? It’s like a detailed map showing the temperature, duration, and all the wonderful sensory changes like aromas and sounds that occur when we roast our green beans. Once Jordyn has used the roasting profile to transform the green beans to brown, they are transferred to large tubs ready for Dave to pack!

Dave

Meet Dave! He’s our amazing bean packer and wholesale delivery driver. Dave takes the tubs of freshly roasted beans and carefully weighs them before putting them into 1kg or 250g bags. This helps make the packing process run smoothly for retail and wholesale orders. Dave is also responsible for weighing and packaging our delicious premium hot chocolate flakes. Before you know it, Dave’s off in the Two Chimps van, delivering our wholesale orders with a smile!

Lianne

Meet Lianne, our superstar in charge of online orders! Lianne takes extra care with every customer’s order, making sure to fulfil any special requests or gift notes. After the coffee is freshly ground, weighed, dated, and carefully packed, it’s ready to go! Lianne then creates the Royal Mail label and places the parcel into sacks to be collected at the end of the day. When needed, Lianne will also step in to help pack wholesale orders.

Phil

Please give a big wave to Phil, our Wholesale Accounts Guru! Typically you’ll find him cruising in our chimpmobile, searching for new vendors to sell our amazing products. This could include cafes that serve our coffee or delis that stock our retail boxes filled with our two chimp’s goodies.

Phil has been a Two Chimps enthusiast for a while now, enjoying our brews for six years! After joining us at the 2024 NEC Farm and Deli show, he has now smoothly transitioned into the TTC team. He has even completed every new chimp rite of passage- a coffee lesson with Andy and a roasting crash course with Jordyn!

This has allowed Phil to gain practical experience in our operations at Two Chimps, enabling him to communicate the fundamentals of TCC to potential stockists and show that we aren’t just awesome coffee but a brand that cares too!

Charlotte

Last but not least, say hello to our Digital Content and Web-Based Marketing Creative Charlotte, AKA me! I take care of all things social media and marketing and write posts like this one for our learning hub (hey, readers!). From Instagram to YouTube, I make sure to keep you all updated on the latest coffees and delicious coffee recipes, and I also arrange collaborations with other awesome brands. I also create new coffee labels, online text, and weekly newsletters.
