Unwanted Coffee at Christmas
Let me set the scene…
It’s Christmas morning, and the inner child in you can’t wait to run downstairs and see what’s under the tree.
Everyone has found their presents, and before you know it, the floor is now a sea of wrapping paper.
However, there’s one gift you were expecting to see but can’t find it anywhere; Two Chimps Coffee. Oh no, you’ve been gifted some coffee that isn’t yummy speciality coffee! What shall you do with your unwanted coffee at Christmas?! Fear not friends; I have a few solutions.
Mask With Milk

Before you completely disregard the coffee, why not give it a little taste? You could always add loads of milk to mask the taste of the coffee if needed. Perhaps not exactly what you wanted, but you still can’t beat a cup of Joe. You never know, it might not be that bad…
Cook With It
Another idea for your unwanted coffee at Christmas is to cook with it. I know cooking with coffee probably isn’t on your bucket list, but there are loads of great recipes that use coffee in them! For instance, check out our guide for ‘Chocolate Coffee Desserts’ or try adding coffee into your own recipe and see how it goes. You might be surprised by what you find.

Maybe try making Espresso Martinis with your unwanted coffee. A great drink to have at any coffee party.
Not too sure where to start? Check out our guide on ‘How To Make An Espresso Martini’ The possibilities are endless!
Food Banks
If you really don’t fancy the coffee, don’t waste it; donate it to your local food bank instead. There’s someone out there who would really appreciate a cup of coffee. Not only are you helping out someone in need; you’re also helping out our planet by not wasting anything. It’s a win-win situation.
Using It In Your Garden
Rather than chucking your unwanted coffee in the bin, chuck it on your soil. Seriously! The coffee grounds act as a great fertiliser. They bring organic material to your soil and plants which help with drainage when you water your plants.
If you have plants in your garden which are lovers of acid, coffee grounds will be just the thing for them. This is because coffee grounds can lower the pH value in the soil.
So, if you have plants such as Roses or Beech Trees, sprinkle some coffee grounds around your soil, and you’ll have some very happy and healthy plants.

If your plants are under attack by pesky slugs and snails, simply sprinkle some coffee grounds around the base of your plants to keep them safe and sound.
Check out our blog ‘Great News For Green Fingers’ for some more ideas on how to use your coffee grounds in your garden.
