Coffee Face Scrub

By creating your own coffee face scrub, you will know exactly what you are putting on your skin as you know what ingredients you used to make it.

Coffee is a natural exfoliator, which means it helps to remove any dead skin leaving a beautiful natural glow.

To make this coffee face scrub at home, you will need:

• 3 tbsp of freshly ground coffee. Grind to the consistency of ground rock salt.
• 9 tbsp of olive oil
• 1 tbsp of brown sugar

Let’s get started

Firstly, mix your coffee grounds and brown sugar together. Next, pour in your olive oil until you reach a paste-like consistency. If you prefer your face scrub thicker or thinner, adjust the amount of oil to suit.

Pour your face scrub into a jar and leave in the fridge until set.

Massage the scrub on your face, leave for a minute or two and then rinse off with warm water.

Not only will you have amazing skin, but you’ll smell like coffee too making you even more awesome!

Coffee Shampoo

Adding coffee to your shampoo will result in your hair becoming longer, shinier and softer! All you need is your favourite shampoo and some leftover coffee.

Also, a study by Alpecin, a German shampoo company, has shown that using coffee in your shampoo can reduce the risk of hair loss, and that the caffeine stimulated hair follicles to regrow.

To make coffee-infused shampoo, you will need:

• One tsp of ground coffee for every 2 tbs of shampoo that you use – mix well

Top tips – make a bottle’s worth at a time and mix first to save you taking spoons into the shower with you!

Use your new coffee shampoo just like you would normally.

Coffee infused oil

Coffee infused oil can improve the texture of your skin by tightening it to reduce cellulite and wrinkles.

Caffeine also stimulates the follicle’s ability to produce hair, making this awesome for beards. Lastly, coffee-infused oil can help reduce puffy eyes and dark circles too.

Ready to make your own? Let’s do this.

Ingredients to make your coffee-infused oil:

• Four tbsp of ground coffee (finely ground like table salt)
• Eight tbsp of either olive oil or coconut oil depending on your preference.
• A bottle for storage.

Instructions:

On a low heat, combine the coffee and oil in a small pan.

Heat the oil and coffee on a low heat for 30 – 60 minutes. Do not leave the pan of oil unattended and stir the mixture occasionally.

After the time is up, strain the mixture.

Once your oil is ready, pour it into your bottle.

Put a few drops of the oil on your hand and massage it into your skin or beard. You’ll smell amazing.
