Cinnamon Spiced Latte with a Twist

Isn’t it lovely to see the mornings and nights getting a bit brighter? It’s a nice little hint that those long spring/summer days are just around the corner! (Even if the classic British weather still tries to keep us grounded with its grey skies, chilly winds, and rain!)

It’s time to cosy up and treat yourself to a delicious cinnamon-spiced latte with a fun twist. That sounds pretty perfect, right?

Two Chimps coffee and freshly spiced pouch

Although a cinnamon-spiced latte is an awesome and delicious drink on its own, adding a little something from Freshly Spiced will make this drink even better!

Freshly Spiced is a business based in Nottingham that specialises in creating spices which can be used in food and drink recipes.

Got a minute to spare? Then check them out!

Tom toasts the spices and spice blends to enhance their aromas. To make sure the spices are as fresh as possible, the team grind in small batches regularly.

Not only are their spices super fresh, but they are 100% natural, too! Wahoo!

The Twist

In this recipe, we use their Turkish drinking spice blend, which is conveniently available through our shop.

This coffee spice blend created by Tom and the team combines the flavours and aromas of both Moroccan and Turkish drinks.

The pack contains 25g of coffee spice blend, which will last for ages as only a tiny amount is required to add a unique taste to your already awesome coffee.

Great if you are looking for an alternative to sugar or sweetener, too.

The Latte

Café Latte means coffee with milk. In this recipe, that is the angle we are going for. You don’t necessarily need an espresso machine to make this café latte; it’s just your favourite brewing device.

However, we recommend that you brew your coffee shorter and stronger than usual, leaving more room for milk.

Our coffee choice for this recipe

Right then, let’s do this!

You will need the following:

  1. Firstly, brew your coffee stronger and shorter than usual with your preferred brewing device.
  2. While giving your coffee time to brew if needed, warm and whisk the desired amount of milk to fill your mug. Do so either in a pan on the hob, or jug in the microwave.
  3. Add a ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and a ¼ teaspoon of Turkish drinking spice to your milk.
  4. Pour your short sharp coffee and top with lashings of warm spiced milk.
  5. If it has been one of those days, add some whipped cream to finish. You deserve it.

And that’s all there is to it! This drink is super simple to make and is ideal for those cold nights. So, put the fire on, pop your feet up and watch a film.
