Make a Gin Espresso Martini with us!

With New Year’s Eve just around the corner, we’re here to bring you the best drink to welcome 2025! Introducing a twist on the classic, say hello to our Gin Espresso Martini. Now, this isn’t your standard Gin. We’ve used some of the best around, specifically our friends over at Multum Gin Parvo, another small business based in Rutland!

Combined with our best-selling, orange-labelled brew, this will become your new favourite cocktail. Let’s dive right in!

Gin Espresso Martini

It’s no wonder we are a fan of this cocktail (coffee and Gin– yes, please!), but what makes this drink extra special?

Let’s start with the ingredients. This isn’t just any coffee, it is Two Chimps Speciality Coffee. This means you are getting rich and unique flavours that you can only find in small batch roasted single-origin beans.

To give this cocktail a full-bodied, punchy coffee flavour, we used our best-selling medium/dark roasted, orange-labelled coffee. This prolonged roasting period has caramelised these beans to perfection, drawing out all those amazing natural qualities within the beans.

At first sip, you’ll enjoy a deliciously smooth dark chocolate base, topped with sweet toffee and a delightful hint of fruity prune. To top it all off, you’ll get a subtle nuttiness that makes for the perfect finish. It’s a tasty treat you won’t want to miss!

Now, onto the second part of this cocktail, the Gin. We’ve ditched the traditional spirit used in this cocktail (Vodka) and replaced it with this incredible Rutland Dry Gin to bring some immense flavours.

This classic dry gin has subtle acorn and floral notes throughout, and the aroma will make you think of a countryside walk. Combined with a coffee twist, and you’re onto a winner! Now, let’s get to the best part- it’s Martini time!

You will need:

50ml Rutland Dry Gin

30ml Espresso

20ml Simple Syrup

3 Coffee Beans

Ice

Cocktail Shaker with strainer

To make your simple syrup:

  1. Add equal parts water and granulated sugar and heat over medium heat until just boiling. (We used 50ml water and 50g sugar)
  2. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and set aside to cool.

To make the martini:

  1. Make a double espresso and set aside to cool.
  2. Add a generous amount of ice to your cocktail shaker.
  3. Add your cooled espresso, simple syrup and gin.
  4. Shake vigorously for at least 2 minutes.
  5. Pour using a strainer and wait for the drink to settle.
  6. Garnish with three coffee beans, and enjoy!

Tempted, but you aren’t a fan of Gin? No worries, try our Vodka based recipe below!
