Freshly Roasted Coffee at All Good Market – Stamford

An environmentally friendly market shop in Stamford specialising in local, zero waste produce.

What does it mean to be a ‘good’ shopper?

Should you go vegan? Shop local? Choose carbon neutral?

It can be hard to know which way is best.

Everyone has their preferences, of course, but if there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that we can all do our bit to shop more sustainably.

Plastic problems

Annabel Britton was disappointed at the lack of sustainable shopping opportunities close to her home in Stamford. Previously, Annabel lived in Paris, where she drastically cut her plastic waste by using a local zero waste shop. When she returned to England, Annabel was shocked to see the amount of single-use plastic still piling up on the shelves of her parents’ kitchen. Cutting back proved a challenge; no nearby shop sold pantry essentials that weren’t ridiculously over-packaged.

Game changer

Annabel decided to be the change she wanted to see and opened the All Good Market on St Paul’s Street, Stamford. The shop does what it says on the (recyclable) tin: it is a one-stop-shop brimming with local, good-for-the-planet produce. Annabel has a fantastic range of dry goods such as pasta, grains and nuts, as well as snacks, drinks, chilled items, and more. Over 80 pantry essentials are sold package-free; customers simply bring their own container and buy however much they need, straight from the dispenser. No plastic, just great local produce!

Delivering freshly roasted coffee

Annabel was keen to source from local companies that shared her ethical, eco-friendly values. That’s how she found us! At Two Chimps, we believe that great coffee shouldn’t cost the planet, and we do all that we can to reduce and recycle. Earlier this year, we became a climate positive roastery, which means we offset all our carbon emissions. Whoop whoop! We impressed Annabel with our down to earth approach to great coffee and commitment to reducing waste. ‘You take the coffee seriously, but you’re not remotely snobbish about it,’ she says. That’s us: Awesome coffee. No nonsense!

We deliver our freshly roasted speciality coffees to the All Good Market every week, so you can be sure that you’re always getting coffee at its best.

To keep our packaging to an absolute minimum, we transport our lovely beans in reusable containers, which we empty straight into the dispensers in the shop. If you fancy an individual bag of Two Chimps Coffee instead, no problem, Annabel is happy to order one for you. The packaging is fully recyclable, so you’ll still be getting top marks from the planet!

Oh, and did we mention that the All Good Market stocks our loose-leaf teas as well?

Simply pop in to see our refreshing tea collection, which includes a citrusy Earl Grey and an oh-so-fresh peppermint tea.

A sustainable success story

The All Good Market has been going strong for several months and is extremely popular with locals and visitors. Contrary to what many people think, choosing waste-free is a great way to save money as you only buy the amount you need. What’s more, buying Annabel’s local produce reduces travel pollution and cuts your carbon footprint. And you get some delicious, healthy goodies!

Annabel is thrilled with how the All Good Market has taken off. She describes the shop as her ‘creative outlet’ which offers lots of freedom to try new things and support small businesses. Annabel really enjoys developing relationships with her suppliers and getting to know her customers through a good old chinwag!

She is planning bucket loads of exciting things for the All Good Market. For instance, an IGTV series which will help her customers and social media followers to feel more connected with the food they eat.

Two Chimps shop

Andy Cross

Meet the chimp behind this article!
Head Chimp founded Two Chimps alongside Laura in 2016 after being self-employed from the age of 21. He caught the coffee bug from using an at-home roaster, and the rest is history!

What Andy does outside of the treehouse:
When the weather’s nice, Andy loves going on bike rides with his trusty sidekick, microchimp Felix (who always leads the way, of course). Andy also enjoys spending time tending to the family’s vegetable garden, and looking after their at-home farmyard, which includes a cat, two guinea pigs, and six chickens!

Andy says…
“I believe every day is a school day, and I’m always looking for opportunities to stick my head in a book and absorb new knowledge. I also love a problem to solve and fix – there’s no such thing as problems, only solutions.”
