Grab your coffee at the Pub or in the Pantry at Castle Bytham

Locally roasted coffee served & sold fresh in this rural village pub & pantry.

While we were all thrown into lockdown, the landlords of The Castle Inn decided to help out their locals by opening a small shop at the back of the pub. This was the start of The Pantry.

How it began

The Castle Inn has been run by Sue & Will since 2017. Situated in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, in the village of Castle Bytham, the villages’ name comes from a castle that was built soon after the Norman conquest. The castle was later destroyed, but you can still see the remnants of the walls overlooking the village.

The pub was originally called the Three Tuns but was renamed the Castle long before Sue & Will took over. The Castle Pantry got its name because it’s so much nicer than the Castle shop!

You can tell that Sue & Will love what they do by their enthusiasm. They love their local customers and feel lucky that they get to meet lovely people with a diverse range of ages that mix beautifully with a respect for the elderly and pride of the young.

They have a strong team of around ten people, including a full-time chef.

Coffee at the Pub and Pantry

At Two Chimps Coffee, we’re always on the lookout to share our freshly roasted coffee with like-minded people, and that’s how we came across the Castle Inn.

We have a shared value in that they love using fresh, local produce and supporting local businesses.

Vic contacted the pub and pantry and initially, Sue politely declined, but a few days later she had a call from Sue saying she’d reconsidered! Woo Hoo!

Vic visited Sue & Will and ran a tasting demonstration of some of our coffees. We are happy to report that Sue and Will instantly fell in love with our freshly roasted coffee. Now they drink nothing else! Since our initial visit, they have purchased a new bean to cup machine. Two Chimps is now served in the pub as well as being sold as retail bags in the pantry. Winner!

They’ve created a friendly welcoming atmosphere within the pub where food and drinks are made and served with love using as much local produce as possible.

The pantry is a wonderful addition to their business as they hope to expand the business even more! They’ve started renovations on the barn at the back which will be turned into a two-bedroom holiday let. It’s the perfect location for a peaceful getaway.

As they’re both so busy with the pub & pantry, Sue & Will don’t tend to have a lot of free time; however, when they do, they love to visit their holiday home for a bit of well-deserved R&R. They both drink Two Chimps Coffee outside of work, and this is what they said about us;

“We love the marketing, the philosophy and we only work with people we like, and we like the coffee, the company and the people.”
