Small batch coffee at Luck & Boo!

Enjoy big-flavour vegan food and ethical Two Chimps Coffee at Luck & Boo – Melton’s first plant-based café!

We know vegan food can be good. But we didn’t know it can be this good.

Step inside Luck & Boo’s quirky, slogan-decked café and you instantly feel cool. Positivity comes in abundance – and not just from the ‘HAPPY PLACE’ lights glowing pink on the wall. Those feel-good vibes come from the great food, awesome coffee and best friend-style service. These are the things that make Luck & Boo your kind of Happy Place.

A New Vegan Restaurant for Melton Mowbray

Luck & Boo’s beginning came in pop-up form. In early 2021, Marcus and Becky (Boo) brought the plant-based revolution to Melton with their pop-up café. Their eco approach and fresh, infinitely flavourful food was an instant hit, and they opened Luck & Boo full time in the spring. You’ll find them at Melton Wellness House on Burton Street, just 30 seconds from the town centre.

Marcus knows his stuff when it comes to food. He has 25 years’ experience under his belt and has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in London, Sydney and Paris. Flavour fiends come expecting, because BIG-flavour is Marcus’s forte!

Plant-Based Food with Passion!

Break the fast with a Luck & Boo brunch. It’s a rather awesome idea…

Luck & Boo serve brunch every Saturday from 11am. Wake up to sunshine in the form of a fruity smoothie or berry yoghurt stack. Big day ahead? Tuck into Marcus’s full Venglish. It’s a hearty plate of smoked beans, tofu scramble and homemade seitan… we’re not telling porkies when we say this is the best vegan breakfast you’ll have!

Brunch done; let’s move on to lunch! Luck & Boo offer tasty plant-based lunches from Tuesday to Saturday, so there’s plenty of time to pop along (and go back for more!).

Look forward to sweet-spicy Mexican roast potatoes or an oh-la-la elegant tofu and cress bagel. Or why not treat yourself to the Luck & Boo McLovin’? It’s giving that famous sausage-egg-muffin breakfast (ya know the one) a good run for its money.

Vegan Comfort Food in the Evening

Whether you want a smart date night meal or hearty bowl of deliciousness, Luck & Boo’s evening menu has got you covered.

Order a Greek Mezze Platter for small-plate perfection, or swap sub-standard takeaways with fresh vegan alternatives. The pie and mash combo goes down a treat (it’s the onion gravy that does it). And the fishless fish supper? It’s the vegan answer to a chippie tea – crispy plumes of batter with salted triple-cooked chips and not-too-mushy mushy peas. Yes please!

Marcus keeps things seasonal, so the menus change regularly. But the Greek Souvlaki? It won’t be going anywhere. These spiced seitan kebabs ‘share a lot of what Luck & Boo is about,’ Marcus tells us.

There’s a fun story behind the Luck & Boo Souvlaki. Marcus isn’t a huge fan of peppers, you see, so was a little flustered when Becky prepared a mezze platter on their second date. He was keen to impress so tucked into the feast – peppers and all!

Dairy-free Drinks for Everyone

Just fancy a drink? You’re in for a treat!

Luck & Boo’s multicolour drinks range is available day and night. Find all the classic teas and coffee alongside some cool new offerings. The Black Magic Latte is wickedly good – activated black coconut charcoal with cacao and coconut milk. Or why not cosy down with a Chai Date Latte? It’s nicely spiced with the café’s homemade chai date paste.

Two Chimps at Luck & Boo

Marcus likes to keep things local at the cafe. This made Two Chimps a natural choice for the lovely Luck & Boo cups. This, and the fact that we roast fantastically fresh coffee –  ‘the best coffee we have tried,’ Marcus says!

Don’t Poke the Bear is Marcus’s coffee of choice. We source these high elevation beans from South Huila in Colombia, and roast them medium-dark to bring out their sugar-like sweetness. Ordering decaf? Get ready to enjoy How Many Llamas Did You Say Were in the Phonebox?. This prize Ethiopian coffee marries gingerbread flavours with hints of mandarin. Cool!

It’s good news for tea-lovers, too. Because Luck & Boo also serve our artisan loose leaf teas. The perfect partner to one of those vegan cakes on the counter…

Ever-changing menus

There’s always something new to enjoy at Luck & Boo. Marcus keeps the menus fresh with innovative new dishes that suit the seasons. Buffalo sprout bites at Christmas and berry-bright brunch bowls in July? You bet!

Luck & Boo gets busy, so booking is a good shout. Prefer to take your food home? No problem. Just order for collection! And guess what? You get 10% off when you bring your own container! Love it.
