Speciality Coffee in Melton Mowbray

Melton Community Café can be found nestling on the edge of Melton Mowbray Country Park, just a short walk from the town centre.

We’re happy to announce that the speciality coffee in Melton Mowbray community cafe is provided by Two Chimps! Currently open from Monday to Wednesday, supervised adults who have learning difficulties run the café. This allows them to gain social skills and work in an environment which they may not have had the opportunity to do so before.

This initiative is run by Sunny Skies who are a community-led organisation with other projects in the Melton Mowbray area.

Mhmmm… Yummy!

The café has a selection of yummy cakes; all of which are freshly baked at the café. They also serve savoury options, such as sausage rolls and jacket potatoes. They have various fillings which are all prepared at the café too.

Where possible, the team use local businesses and producers for the ingredients on the menu. Feast and Furious, Melton Cheeseboard and Dickinson & Morris are among an array of local producers this Community Café uses. Using local producers means that all their food is always super fresh too.

Specialist Coffee in Melton Mowbray

As well as great food, they are now serving Two Chimps Coffee – Wahooo! Currently, you will be able to enjoy a cup of ‘Round Hole, Square Peg’ through a cafetiere.

This coffee comes to us from Fazenda Recreio in Brazil and is an awesome chocolate sensation with a tropical fruit like acidity. It’s also a great coffee to drink throughout the day!

The coffees we source and roast here from Two Chimps towers are speciality coffees. This means they are of the highest quality as they has to obtain a score of 80 points or higher to gain its status. Our coffees are lovingly cared for throughout their life, from growing right through to roasting.

Our coffees are ethically sourced from small farms and estates from around the world. Some come from Brazil and Colombia, and others come from Rwanda and Ethiopia, to name a few.

Because our coffees come from small farms and co-operatives, the coffee that Melton Community Café is currently serving will change from time to time.

When a coffee has been harvested, processed, shipped, roasted and drunk, it is gone for good. Although coffee farmers will produce coffee again next year, the coffee may be of lesser quality, or hold different tasting notes.

A Cafetiere being plunged

When the time comes to change a coffee (around every 8 to 12 months) we already have a new coffee to replace it with. Although the two coffees won’t be identical, they will have very similar flavours. The aim is that you will enjoy the new coffee just as much, if not more!
